The
Boys on the Scholarship Fund
Male Recipients of the WODANET Scholarship
Although the scholarship fund was set up strictly for girls,
the Centre comes into contact with boys that are in dare need
of help and therefore extends support to boys in such exceptional
cases. In such cases, specific individuals who are willing
to take responsibility for such boys are sought for.
In other words boys are not placed on the general list of
recipients, but are attached to specific individuals who have
accepted to take full responsibility for their fees. Two of
such donors whom have volunteered to and have diligently paid
the fees of these male recipients, prefer to be anonymous
and to relate to the boys through the Centre.
Thomas Mark Adedeji
Thomas is a medical student of the University of Ibadan. Adedeji,
had through his hard work seen himself through secondary school
and was able to pay for his tuition fees at the university.
He however, had financial difficulty with raising funds for
his upkeep, books and other learning materials (e.g. handouts).
He was introduced to the Centre by members of staff of Project
Alert who came across him during their project working with
domestic workers and violence against women.
